Career Outlook

This curriculum is designed for students who intend to pursue studies at a four-year college in mathematics or related fields. Graduates of our program have successfully continued their education at the baccalaureate level at universities and colleges such as Stony Brook University (SUNY), Binghamton University (SUNY), and St. Joseph’s College. Some have continued onward for graduate degrees in mathematics and related fields. View our Transfer Agreements for more information.

Scholarship Opportunities

Multiple academic and need-based scholarships are available to students enrolled in the Mathematics Emphasis:

• NSF-STEM Program
• Dr. Robert J. Frey Family Scholarships ($5,000 each): An academic-based scholarships for three students taking advanced mathematics every year.
• Beverly Broomell Memorial Scholarship ($500): An academic-based scholarship for a student planning to pursue mathematics teaching.
• Ellis Von Eschen Memorial Scholarship ($400): An academic-based scholarship.

Math Tutoring

The College offers paying opportunities for outstanding mathematics students to become peer tutors.

Math and Computer Science Resource Room

The Math and Computer Science Resource Room is located near the faculty offices. Math majors can meet, collaborate and have easy access to faculty.

Extracurricular Activities and Clubs

We have a flourishing student-run Mathematics Club and a local chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, the Mathematics Honor Society for Two Year Colleges. Students also participate in the NYSMATYC and AMATYC Mathematics Competitions every semester.
