Study Hour & RESTART Program

Study Hour (STH 001) is a weekly, zero‑credit, zero‑cost support course that helps students strengthen academic skills, improve standing, and navigate college successfully. Students meet with an academic mentor weekly for 15 weeks during the fall or spring semester.

Program Focus

  • Personalized academic guidance

  • Skill‑building in time management, studying, and self‑management

  • Supportive, low‑pressure environment for academic recovery and growth

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop effective academic strategies and study skills

  • Increase accountability and initiative through tutoring, workshops, and mentoring

  • Use campus resources such as Academic Advising, Tutoring, Disability Services, Financial Aid, and Counseling

  • Create individualized academic and career plans that address challenges and build on strengths

 

RESTART Program 

All Study Hour students are automatically enrolled in RESTART, a curriculum designed to support academic recovery through seven core principles:

  • Recover – Regain academic standing with targeted support

  • Empower – Build confidence and ownership of learning

  • Strategize – Create personalized improvement plans

  • Transform – Foster positive academic and personal change

  • Accountability – Take responsibility for performance

  • Reflection – Assess progress and growth regularly

  • Thrive – Strengthen belonging, motivation, and long‑term success

Study hour program is for students who are on academic warning or dismissal but open to anyone.
