    1. A completed scholarship application
    2. An official high school transcript and evidence of the ability to succeed at college-level course work. This may be demonstrated by SAT scores, ACT scores or by the College's CPT placement tests taken after acceptance to the College.
    3. One professional letter of recommendation
    4. One personal letter of recommendation
    5. Two academic letters of recommendation
    6. A volunteer agency certification form
    7. A typewritten essay of no more than two pages, double-spaced.

To be competitive, the essay should include evidence of the following:

Leadership and community service: applicants may use examples of volunteer involvement in activities such as community service, contributions to civic, fraternal, or service organizations.

Persistence: applicants may cite success in school or other endeavors that illustrate an ability to overcome obstacles such as financial hardship, physical or mental challenges, or a difficult family situation.

Career goals: applicants should include a discussion of their short-term and long-term career plans and any efforts such as cooperative learning experiences or volunteer activities, that evidence effort toward attaining their career objectives.

Students who possess special talents should incorporate into their narrative examples illustrating how they have used their abilities to better their communities.

The student must have filed an annual FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Preference will be given to students registered to attend SCCC full-time. At its discretion, the Foundation may elect to award a very limited number of scholarships to part-time students who exhibit outstanding potential. As long as all scholarship requirements and scholar expectations continue to be met (inclusive of filing an annual FAFSA form) and the student remains continuously enrolled at SCCC with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, the scholarship is renewable for up to a maximum of five semesters, or until the student graduates.
