Women's Softball Team Volunteers at Special Olympics Event
The Suffolk County Community College Women's Softball Team volunteered at the 6th annual Freezin for a Reason Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics of New York at Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai on Saturday November 21.The event was hosted by the Town of Brookhaven and raised more than $150,000 for Special Olympics of New York. The money will help the Special Olympics cover the costs of equipment, training, competitions and venues. Special Olympics New York allows special needs athletes to train and compete year-round in 22 Olympic-style sports.
