Suffolk Bowlers Are NJCAA Academic Champs
Suffolk County Community College’s Women’s Bowling Team has been honored by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as one of the 2014-15 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year.Emily Clark of Port Jefferson Station; Emily Halbert of Islip; Jordan Kruger of East Islip; Brianna Meyer of Middle Island; Laura Molloy of St. James and Lena Sorrentino of East Islip were recognized for earning the highest grade-point average – a 3.37 -- in their respective sport and gender during the 2014-15 academic year.
Twelve awards were earned by men's programs and 13 by women's. Teams are required to compile at least a 3.0 grade-point average to be considered for the honor.
