Suffolk County Community College Celebrates New Academic Year: Convocation, Tuesday
September 2, 2014.
Members of the College community, including current students, administration, faculty,
staff and members of the College’s Board of Trustees welcome first-year and returning
students during the ceremony whose theme this year is: Transforming Lives, Empowering Individuals, Creating a Legacy.
“The Convocation will celebrate our College’s dedication to success, commitment to
excellence and community engagement,” said Suffolk County Community College President
Dr. Shaun L. McKay.
McKay said that five individuals who are recipients of SUNY Chancellor’s Awards will
also be recognized.
The ceremony’s keynote speech will be delivered by Suffolk County Community College graduate, attorney and certified public accountant Eric Martinez.
