GM Donates 2014 C7 Corvette to Suffolk’s Auto Technology Program.

When Chris Evans as Captain America needs a ride in the opening scene of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, appears in a gleaming black-on-black 2014 Corvette Stingray.
 
And if Black Widow’s ride of choice ever needs repairs, students from Suffolk County Community College’s Auto Technology program will have the expertise to keep her and Captain America moving on to their next mission thanks to the GM Automotive Service Education Program’s (ASEP) donation to the college of a 2014 C7 Corvette, black-on-black, that is worth an estimated $70,000. The Corvette was named the 2014 North American Car of the Year.

The donated American muscle car can never be titled, sold or road driven according to the terms of the donation to the college, but it will serve as a learning platform for the college’s Automotive Technology students seeking certification as automotive technicians with dealerships or repair centers.

Students who are accepted to the college’s competitive program can choose to be certified from among the following: GM-ASEP, for either General Motors dealerships or AC Delco repair centers; Honda PACT, for Honda or Acura dealerships; Toyota T-TEN, for Toyota or Lexus dealerships; and ATAC, for all other manufacturers' dealerships or independent shops.
