Suffolk’s Marketing Excellence Honored

It’s no secret that, thanks to award-winning advertising and marketing, Suffolk County Community College offers students a superior education at a great value and that after attending and graduating from Suffolk many students move on to prestigious four-year colleges and universities.

Once again, as it has for the past several years, Suffolk County Community College has been recognized for excellence and garnered a host of awards from prestigious industry groups for its marketing communications and creatively telling the college’s story by utilizing student success stories.

The awards include:
  • Telly Awards for individual television commercial and total TV campaign;
  • 2013 Silver and Bronze Award from The Higher Education Advertising Awards in three different categories;
  • Paragon Award for Best Community College Flyer from The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).
“We are fortunate to have so many positive stories to tell,” said Drew Fawcett, Associate Dean for Institutional Advancement. “Our communications reflect a College of excellence.”

About the Awards

Telly Award: founded in 1978 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable TV commercials. The 34th Annual Telly Awards competition featured more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents.

National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR): an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges. NCMPR’s Paragon Awards is the only national competition to exclusively honor excellence among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

Higher Education Advertising Awards: the largest educational advertising awards competition in the United States. Nearly 2,000 entries were submitted from more than 1,000 colleges and universities from around the world.
