US Open Badminton Says Sponsorships Available For First Time East Coast July 8-13 Event Hosted by Suffolk County Community College.
Organizers of the 2014 YONEX US Open Badminton Championships to be held at Suffolk County Community College’s Michael J. Grant Campus’ Health, Sports and Education Center field house in Brentwood, NY from July 8 -13, have announced the availability of tournament sponsorship’s and advertising opportunities for interested businesses seeking local as well as global exposure.Advertisements are available for as little as $350 and full corporate sponsorships featuring program placements, internet presence on the US Open website and via social media throughout the event, as well as courtside signage and VIP access to the tournament. The tournament is a first of its kind on the East Coast of the United States and will award a total prize purse of $120,000 and is one of only 11 Grand Prix Gold tournaments world-wide according to officials.
A badminton tournament of this magnitude has never been held on the East Coast of the United States. The tournament was moved from Orange County, California where it has been staged for the past 18 years, according to the U.S. Open Tournament Committee. Tournament officials said the move to the East Coast and Suffolk County Community College was done to broaden the appeal of the sport. Tickets will cost between $15 and $30 for adults, depending on the event and $10 to $15 for school age children and are on sale now via the organizer’s website at: http://usopengpg.com/

The 57,800 square foot Michael J. Grant Campus Field House opened in 2000, can seat 4,800 spectators for exhibits and conventions and 2,700 spectators for sporting events, and is the largest facility of its kind in Suffolk County. The facility has a 200-meter, 6-lane AAU track, synthetic sports flooring, with the exception of a hardwood basketball court area; fitness center, dance/aerobics room, and a six-lane 250-meter pool with diving area and training room.
