Through contributions received from businesses and individuals, Suffolk County Community College and the Suffolk Community College Foundation are leading an effort to provide emergency relief funds for current students who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy and the recent nor’easter and, as a result, now need help:
- replacing textbooks
- replacing computers or other electronic equipment
- purchasing clothing and food, and
- covering costs associated with commuting or other necessities
Through the generosity of Follet Bookstores, students can receive a voucher in the amount of $250 to replace textbooks that have been lost or destroyed.
Through donations received from the public, the Suffolk Community College Foundation Relief Fund can assist students requiring financial help to offset extraordinary commuting or living expenses, or to replace computers or other electronic equipment. The Relief Fund can provide cash grants of up to $500 to address these needs.
If you are a current Suffolk County Community College student who would like to apply for this kind of financial assistance, please download and complete the application below. Please bring the completed application to your campus Dean for Student Affairs Office.
