Academic Literacy Center
Islip Arts Building, Room 116
All college majors have one thing in common; there is a lot of reading required.
A strong foundation in literacy is essential for success in the classroom and in the
workplace. In the Academic Literacy Center, we provide SCCC students with the strategies
they need to become confident and effective readers. We can help with any type of
text, regardless of the subject area. Whether you need assistance with reading comprehension,
vocabulary development, note-taking, study strategies, or time management we tailor
tutoring sessions to meet your individual needs.
Drop-in tutoring and academic advisement hours are listed below.
