TITLE: Executive Director for the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Executive Director of the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness reports directly to the Vice President for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness. Working with the Vice President, the Executive Director of the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness coordinates the activities of the staff in the office, strategic and operational planning, institutional research and reporting, institutional assessment and evaluation, and institutional accreditation tasks.The Executive Director manages the ongoing implementation and evaluation of the Comprehensive Assessment Plan for Institutional Effectiveness (CAPIE), co-chairs the Assessment Advisory Council (AAC), and co-chairs the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

 

Job Duties:

  • Manages the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (OPIE) and supervises and evaluates staff.
  • Coordinates all tasks undertaken by the Office, including prioritization of data and report requests, and assignment of tasks to staff.
  • Coordinates the production of the College Factbook and the Annual Report on Institutional Effectiveness and maintains Institutional Compliance Database.
  • Oversees all software and technology needs of the Office, including oversight of the purchasing, implementation, updating, and staff training for all hardware and software assets.
  • Coordinates the operational planning process at the College.
  • Coordinates assessment and evaluation of all Administrative, Educational, and Student Support (AES) units.
  • Serves as a member of the Strategic Planning Council (SPC) and Joint Planning and Assessment Council (JPAC).
  • Supervises the IRB process, including initial application and screening.
  • Reviews all reports, data, and information generated by the Office.
  • Supports Academic Program Review and annual academic assessments.
  • Serves as Office liaison on the College Computing Council and Information Technology Steering group.
  • Remains current in the field of planning, assessment, and organizational theory.
  • Represents the College to internal and external constituencies as a planning and assessment resource.
  • Assists the Vice President in creating the department annual budget.

 



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's Degree in a discipline related to planning and research is required; doctorate in education leadership or related field preferred. Must have at least five years experience managing a staff, including assigning tasks and evaluation of personnel. Experience with planning, assessment and evaluation and organizational development, including experience in performing institutional scans and SWOT analyses, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience in accreditation is a plus. Higher education experience is required; community college experience preferred. Effective communication skills required.



HIRING SALARY:

The Executive Director for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness is an Exempt position and, as such, salary and benefits for the position are determined according to the Exempt salary and benefits package.
